We are going to dissect one of the world’s most influential family dynasties, the Kardashians (and Jenners I guess). If you've ever heard the term Plutonian mystique, just know it perfectly sums up this family.
First and foremost, Pluto (also known as the God of the Underworld) is the planet of power, rebirth, transformation and all that’s hidden beneath the surface. In astrology, it rules the mystifying sign of Scorpio, a celestial archetype that is often considered polarizing among others in the zodiac, thanks to its deeply complex, enigmatic and taboo-like nature. Scorpio is also associated with themes surrounding death, secrets, sexuality, mystery, extreme wealth, and all that is forbidden. Sound familiar?
Despite whether you’ve been Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it’s no secret that this family’s had their fair share of scandals, but this is exactly what makes them so fascinating, not to mention entertaining to watch. (You know when something feels so wrong, but so right at the same time? That is what I mean when I say Plutonian. Bet that’s how you feel everytime you sit back on the couch after a long day to watch the latest episode of KUWTK—I know, I do!)
If you can't help but wonder why you're watching this show to begin with... I guarantee you, you're not alone. However, if you’re not a fan of the show, chances are you’re splurging on Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line SKIMS, or perhaps reading up on Kourtney Kardashian’s organic vitamin supplement Lemme. (Also, don’t even get me started on Kylie’s Lip Kit because the truth is, I have no complaints.) Whatever the case, there’s no denying the facts: the Kardashian-Jenner family legacy continues growing strong, and the whole world can’t seem to get enough, despite the constant backlash of their unconventional and oh so scandalous lifestyle.
Let's take it from the top with America's favorite Momager, Kris Jenner.
Business mogul, reality star and beloved Kardashian-Jenner matriarch, Kristen Mary Jenner was born with a powerhouse Scorpio stellium (Sun, Saturn, Venus in Scorpio) via her second house of finances. If you’ve been keeping up, then you know Kris means business! Also, serious question: if astrology isn’t real, then why does Kris Jenner’s birth chart have “financial empire” written all over it?
In addition to having three planets in this fixed water sign, Jenner was born with Jupiter (the planet of luck, expansion, and opportunity) conjunct Pluto in Leo, a fire sign that has everything to do with fame, leadership, expression and performance, via her 11th house of social networks. In addition ruling her North Node of Destiny, this Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is also making an exact sextile to Neptune, a planet that is symbolic of media, film, and glamour. Astrologically, this would explain why Kris and her family's reality show on a famous network (Leo) was always a part of her destiny. However, despite being a mastermind (Virgo rising, for the win) in the realm of business and media, it took years for Jenner to take herself and her family to new financial heights.
After working for American Airlines as a flight attendant, she married renowned lawyer Robert Kardashian, and had three daughters and a son: Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Kardashian Jr. Robert Kardashian was OJ Simpson’s defense attorney during his 1995 murder trial... which, I dare say, is the root of the family’s Plutonian branding, considering the secrecy, tragedy and death attached to this particular case… but, it doesn’t end there. After her divorce from Robert Kardashian, Kris married Caitlyn Jenner — formerly known as Bruce Jenner in 1990 — after dating for just five and a half months, and had two daughters, Kendall (Scorpio sun) and Kylie Jenner (Scorpio moon).
Caitlyn Jenner, a Scorpio sun and Ascendant, publicly came out as a trans woman in April 2015, after years of "secrecy and confusion." She and Kris ended their marriage after nearly 24 years soon after. Since then, Kris Jenner has been dating Corey Gamble (another Scorpio).
Now, let's go back to the premiere of Keeping Up With The Kardashians...
Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiered on E! News on October 14, 2007. This was less than a year (8 months to be exact) after Kim's home-made sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Ray-J had leaked. Sources believe the release of this tape contributed to the rising fame of Kim Kardashian and her family. And though I would personally beg to differ — at least when considering the amount of work that's gone into this reality show for the past 16 years, let alone the individual/overall success of their family empire — the Plutonian taboo factor is very much a part of the Kardashian-Jenner family branding.
By no means am I insinuating that either of the Kardashian-Jenners have a reason to feel shame or guilt, but Plutonian/Scorpionic energy has a way of unveiling what's beneath the surface. However, it's when we have the courage to face these deep, dark, vulnerable parts of ourselves that we're able to step into our power, and rise from the ashes like the Phoenix. (If you're a fan of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, then you know this family is no stranger to controversy.)
Having said that, despite the repercussions of Kimberly's sex tape, it took a lot of to confront and move past this. Even still, in the first-ever premier episode of KUWTKs on HULU, Kim is still dealing with the legal debacle of this tape, where she even tells goes as far as telling her lawyers: "I have all the time, all the money, all the resources, to burn them all to the f*cking ground."
Bet you're wondering where Kim got her sharp tongue and secret-agent spidey senses from. Well, in addition to being a product of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian, Kim was born with Mercury conjunct Uranus in Scorpio. (For reference, Mercury is the planet of communication, thought processess, and one's immediate circles.) The second-to-oldest Kardashian was just 14 years old at the time of the initial OJ trial, where she recalls feeling torn between what was happening on both sides: her father being OJ's defense attorney, while Kris Jenner mourned the terrible loss of her close friend, Nicole Brown Simpson. Kim's Mercury-Uranus in Scorpio can explain everything from the volatile undercurrents of her immediate surroundings to the dark controversy she witnessed surrounding this case at a young age.
In terms of her fame, beauty, and universal sex appeal, Kim was born with her chart ruler Jupiter (as a Sagittarius rising) conjunct her Virgo Midheaven. The Midheaven represents one's legacy, notoriety, and public persona, which in her case goes right back to that Mercury-Uranus in Scorpio via her 12th house of secrets, subconscious realms, and the collective unconscious. Kim Kardashian's life has been anything but private, as viewers of the hit-reality show have essentially accessed to the ins and outs of her life. Born with a Libra sun with Libra's ruler Venus in Virgo, sitting close to Jupiter in her 10th house of reputation, Kim's Mercury-Uranus conjunction has contributed to her ability to revolutionize the realm of beauty, fashion, and women's inclusivity, making women all over the world feel sexy in their SKIMS... I mean, skin. Venus is, after all, the planet of beauty and sensuality.
The youngest Kardashian Khloe, too, has had her fair share of ups and downs, and in front of the whole world while filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians. (She was born with Mars conjunct Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio.) Before tying the knot with Lamar Odom in 2009, Khloe had already been dealing with deciet and toxicity in her romantic relationships. In one episode of KUWTKs, Khloe asks Kourtney and Kim for advice on her boyfriend Rashad, after not being able to get a hold of him. This is the episode when Kim played the role of the FBI investigator and hacked into Rashad's voicemail to catch him in the act.
Unfortunately, her tumultuous marriage to Lamar Odom (another Scorpio) was no different, and worse when considering the fact that he admitted to "drugs being his girlfriend when he was married to Khloe." In 2016, Khloe began dating Tristan Thompson, the father of children True and Tatum Thompson. While just seven months pregnant with True, Tristan was caught hooking up with Jordyn Woods at a house party in 2019, followed by a mystery woman just days before Khloe gave birth. Then in 2021, while committing to surrogacy plans for their son Tatum who was due in November, Tristan cheated on Khloe and conceived his fourth child Theo.
It's been a long road for Khloe, but she continues to persevere nonetheless, just like the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan.
